Residential log cabins with biological insulation plus system, called "Bio-Dämm-Plus Wandsystem" (patent No. 0714467)

Steinhauer residential log cabins are made from winter cut and rested Nordic block planks.

Construction of the bio-insulation plus walls (k-value 0,269) from outside to inside:

  • 28 mm spruce block plank with groove and tongue
  • 105 mm insulation made from cellulosic fiber
  • 92 mm pine planks with tapered 3-fold groove and tongue

With this construction the point of condensation is shifted outwards and the log cabin remains breathable. A diffusion open construction results with optimal thermal insulation where formation is avoided by sweating water!

Even without using PE film the external building results with a high wind density.

The room climate remains comfortable in natural manner.

For further improvement of the k-value the insulation of the walls could be enlarged to 140 mm against extra charge. So the k-value reaches 0,218 (low-energy-design).
